I thought that might be your reply! We were scheduled to travel to NZ and Australia and stay for a month (payment made and everything), but had to cancel and were able to get most of our $$$ back a few days prior to departure. Reason--my butt issues. So, even though I am OK now, I've had my share of pain and suffering in the not too distant past (2007). :(

You have probably figured that I like travel I loved Australia, in fact me and my ex worked in Sydney for 18 mths before traveling on. We also went to New Zealand, which I just loved too, especially the South Island with its lakes and mountains.
Hmmm... Fav book is Letters from Africa 1914-1931 by Karen Blixen.
Do you have a song, or piece of a song, that you find yourself singing at odd moments, and if so, what song?

I usually have some kind of a song stuck in my head but it changes all the time. Our whole family is very influenced that way- most recently I had "Me and Bobby McGee" stuck in my head all day because my husband saw someone broken down and he said "busted flat in Baton Rouge" and that's all it took. Have you ever read Oliver Sack's book- Musicophilia? It is on my list to read- he talks about the neurology of music getting stuck in your head...
What would your last meal be and why?

Maybe a lobster dinner topped off with some cherries jubilee, rum cake, and key lime pie!!
Do you think professional sports stars or people in some other occupations are overpaid??

YES!
that's a problem, but I think the even bigger problem is a lot of people being underpaid!! Nurses and teachers and people working with the elderly. Often women's jobs. It's a disgrace. I wanted to read Barbara Ehrenreich's book "Nickled and Dimed" before, but didn't.
What do you see when you look out your window right now?

Glad someone agrees with me about how people are paid!! I think it is a travesty the way some of these professional athletes are paid compared to teachers and some of the others you mentioned. I might try to check out that book from the lib!!
Darkness as it is the middle of the night right now. Plus a couple of lighted lamp posts and some snow banks that are continuing to melt during our current "heat wave."
While on a cruise ship, have you ever looked out the window at night wondering, "Where in the heck am I?"

Ohhhhh! I so like that question from Bumbutt that I have to answer it too!!
I am in my car, as the reception to the net is better out than at home, and I am comfy. I can see the river, semi frozen, with a little weir up ahead of me, and a family of Mergansers fishing for food. :D
And now will answer the question that I should have. Yes, but loved the sensation of not knowing anyway.
What is the most impressive building you have visited and what do you remember about it?

The Space Needle in Seattle, Washington, and there is a restaurant at the top. I ate there a couple of times while living in Seattle. It is neat to slowly (ever so slowly) have the "room" turn while continuing to view the city. My friend's daughter used to work there. They call it the "needle."
How often do your clean your house, and do you think it is often enough to keep it sufficiently clean?? Also, does your husband/SO assist with the cleaning??

Housework is rather low on my list right now, but I am lucky enough to have someone come and help me once a week. My husband will lend a hand if I ask. Winter I keep him busy with the snow on the roof which has to be taken off from time to time.
Do you like doing things on the spur of the moment, and if so what was the most exciting?

I tend to be a planning person, and it always takes some minutes for me to readjust when something other than what I was planning to do is suggested.
I'm racking my brain trying to think of something spotaneous that I've done that's fun, but all I can think of is all the fun trips that I planned out! I like to research where we are/I am going and figure out the best sights and maximize the fun! It drives my husband nuts - he's the spontaneous one and hates to plan. When we went to Italy, I tried to play things his way. We didn't know where we would stay... we ended up finding a nice apartment to rent in a small town, and had a great time. I had one of the best meals of my life in a restaurant that we literally stumbled upon in the middle of nowhere. Ok, so I did do something spontaneous!
