for those who had LIS, do you remember.....

it would be interesting to see for those who had the LIS procedure, how many individuals were on the day before and/or day of procedure (before procedure, of course):
1. in unbearable pain and bleeding present within the previous days and taking softners/creams
2. in unbearable pain with no bleeding for approximately 1-3 weeks prior and taking softners/creams
3. in light pain (to the point where you questioned why you were even doing the LIS in the first place) but with minor/major bleeding with or without softners/creams
4. in light pain but no bleeding and with or without using softners/creams
5. almost no pain to no pain with bleeding and with or without using softners/creams
6. almost no pain and no bleeding within the previous days to 4 weeks with or without using softners/creams that you felt the best you have ever felt in a long time that you really felt LIS was not necessary but still did it
thanks - just trying to see what peoples symptoms were the day before and of the procedure.

3.5
I had pretty bad pain, but it wasn't unbearable. A little blood. And I was on softeners, as I have been continuously for 16 months.

Light pain, no bleeding, no creams, but using softeners.

Somewhere between #4 and #5 depending on the day. Generally very mild pain, only infrequent light bleeding, taking Miralax every day.

I was between a 5 and 6.
I wasn't given diltiazem 2% and lidocaine 5% until 12/27 and my surgery was 1/19.
I was totally groovy over 12/29 thru 1/16 or so with some very very very light irritation during BM but no bleeding present for almost 4 weeks prior to LIS.
Was in bad pain over first 3 weeks of December though.

4 for me for most of the time the week before but a 3 the actual day before (which was almost a relief) And I was taking Miralax nightly and having good success with mainly soft movements- just sometimes a little too frequently, which is why things flared up the day before I think.
And the Dr. commented to my husband yesterday after the surgery that my internal muscle was tighter than many he had seen and "very spastic". So that really confirmed for me that I needed it done. Just so if anyone else is feeling like they are doing so well that they should cancel or something. I'm very glad I didn't play this game any longer than I already have!
