Well here I am, with less than 48 hours until surgery....I have to say I'm pretty nervous, didn't sleep well last night and tonight I seem to be in a "bad" mood. I've been reading the old posts bout "leakage" I'm starting to really freak out.....Still pretty pain free, maybe a slight spasms today, but nothing major. Tomorrow can't go fast enough...My surgery is in the afternoon on Wednesday, even worse, more waiting.
I'm sorry to sound whining tonight, just want to get this over with!

It's really not bad Ren. Just think you will be saying good bye to shards of glass, spasms and a burning ass!! Leakage doesn't seem to happen with everyone but at the worst it's a skid mark if it makes it to the underwear
Mine never has :oops: Yeah it sucks, but I'd keep it any day over a fissure and as most of us who are months post-op have reported it gets better.
Besides skid marks weren't invented by LIS patients. I believe they exists in the world of healthy asses too...
Nasty but true. I guess the difference in a post lis skid mark and a never had lis skid mark is that it actually irritates more as the tissue seems to be a little more sensitive since all the trauma.
You are going to do fine and so glad you had this surgery! It's completely normal to feel anxious and nervous. All of us LISers have been there.

Hi- i'm not sure what type of surgery you are having, but three weeks ago I had a fissurectomy with botox. I was so scared in the days before the surgery. The surgery was no big deal, I felt better (less pain) after the surgery. I am now completely pain free and enjoying life again. I bet you will also have a positive outcome. Good luck and don't sweat it.
P.S. I was also told horror stories about severe pain and "leakage" with botox, I've had no leakage.

Thanks gang! @ busybrooke I'm having LIS. I know it will be ok, I think I've let my imagination get the best of me...plus the thought of someone cutting in that area, well.....that in itself is enough to make me crazy! LOL....I slept much better last night, now time to get ready for work, lots do to today before I start my mini vacation:)

Hey Ren! Don't worry - your surgery will go brilliantly! :D Don't let your imagination run away with you (easier said than done, I know!). You will be glad you did it and very soon you will be healing instead of just coping with pain.

Aww, the days before are simply AWFUL! But you'll be fine!
It all sounds much worse and scary than it really is.
And you will be well on your way to healing and getting your life back.

Thanks everyone! Just had the "last supper" LOL, no solids after 8pm:) Hospital called today moved me up about an hour earlier, so that's good. Still find it CRAZY that after all this time of being in pain, now that I'm hours from surgery....i could not be in pain, constipated, bleeding, spas'ing-- if I wanted to!!! unfreakin' believable! But like we all have said, fissures like to play tricks so this is the right decision. I do hate however that I'm in no pain and basically the surgery is like self inflecting pain:) LOL, FISSURES, I HATE THEM!!!
