Another newbie

Hi All
My name is Jo and i am new to this AF lark. I was diagnosed on Saturday after suffering from what i thought was severe hemorrhoids since the Beginning of June this year.
I have had some banded in the past last time 2010 for internal and external and had no reason to think that the pain and bleeding i was experiencing was the same issue again.
The last resort was Saturday when we were due to go out that i had to get an emergency appt with a Dr because i was in so much pain Image . He examined me and i found out its not hemorrhoids at all but 2 Anal Fissures. So here i am. I have been given a prescription for some cream but it gives me a headache after i use it. Anyhow i have an appt with a CRS on the 5th, luckily enough when i saw my GP a few weeks ago he got me that appt so now instead of saying i have hemorrhoids i can say i have AF instead.
So here i am another person suffering the same as all you. I hope you dont mind me popping in :)

Welcome to the forum jonye! You can pop in any time!:)
Good that you will be seeing a CRS soon and you already know you have fissures.
Hopefully you will get some relief and options soon!
Head aches are a common side effect with the Nitro. Maybe you could get one of the other ointments (diltiazem, nifedipine) when you go to your CRS appointment.

Hi there, welcome on board!
Thats great you have such a quick appointment with a CRS. You will at least get correct treatment.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I will see if i can change that cream and also get some Movicol when the chemist opens tomorrow. So far so good today not been too uncomfortable just a niggling pain in the A*** for a change. I am hoping that when i see the CRS next week that something can be sorted out and quite quickly. I have had this problem about 2 months now and everytime i thought it had healed up it was back again. I will keep you all updated and also i will be back when i need somemore help and advice. Again Thank you everyone Image
