Very upset

Postby Jas » 30 Sep 2011, 16:16

For the past couple days I have been having larger and harder BM's. I think I have a tear where the LIS incision was done. When I have a BM that area kind of has a stinging/burning feeling. Sorry TMI but after using my finger and looking at where the incision was made I can feel a stinging sensation about a finger tip inside similar to when I had a fissure. Has anyone else ever had the incision tear sum. I am freaked out and not sure what to do. Do I just try to take more fiber and miralax and hopefully it will heal again. I don't know I feel so lost and alone now. I hope I am not at square 1 again.

hopefully dawn is still in this forum this help u. Stinging sensation after LIS from what i have read, despite i didn't go thru the same, is not unheard of or uncommon. How long has it been ur LIS?
rem to cont with sitz bath, ointments (aloe vera is a good soothing agent, u may wanna chill it in the fridge) and miralax (i think many people swear by it here). U mentioned u have larger and harder BMs, did u drink enough water? too much fiber with insufficient water can cause such stools. Any pain killers or other medicine which u are taking recently? Mind the food u r taking, less white flour, meat and potatoes.

Hey Jas,
I had my surgery on Sep 23rd, couple days ago i felt something like a tearing and now have been having a lot of stinging where LIS was done. (also a lot more discharge and some blood in stool). My RN said it is completely normal to have discharge/pain etc but i am similarly freaking out cause i havn't heard of these symptoms and feel behind on my recovery.
I like you am worried and have noticed a couple of external hemroids popping up, i am starting to wish i hadn't had op. But it is still early and i think i am just freaking out.
