Well, after medical insurance and the hospital waving over $400 in charges our final out of
pocket expense for the LIS surgery will be $283.00. Not bad considering it was $11000
in hospital charges and $2000 for the doc.
Of course we pay a ton for insurance, but you get the drift.
PS..for those of you who told me how glad you are you have National Health Care and you
dont pay, please keep this in mind. Got my first appt with the CRS the SAME DAY I called.
Decided on Thursday I wanted surgery, doctor had it scheduled the following friday. So with
everything there is good and bad. I pay for health insurance, I get in quick. You dont pay but
it takes months... yin/yang I suppose.

Nice! Mine was going to still cost us $2300 out of pocket, but we have a super high deductible and pay low premiums. $283 is a steal! :)

Check the hospitals website under financial aid and fill out any paperwork on charity or help. Even with insurance they may waive part of your bill.
