Day two I had no pain all day. I was at about a 1. Didn't take pain pills either. I have been trying to have a BM all day because I didn't want to be constipated. Then when it finally came it felt very hard. I got a enema ready because I didn't want to go through the same pain that started this in the first place but then it came out. My butt hurt a lot after. About a 7 in pain. I took a pain pill and am icing. I'm surprised it was still hard even with Miralax and stool softener.

I think you should take pain pills, that pain from incision is quite serious and you should not hesitate to use painkillers during 1-2 weeks of healing.

Is that somewhat better now?

How long after surgery can you return to work ?

My experience is 3 weeks

I had sugery on a Friday returned on Monday but hurt worse on Tuesday so had to take a day off

You are really brave returning to work so quick. I had 2 weeks off and then got sent home my second day back as I was crying from the pain, because I didn't take my painkillers.
I second what pin pin says you really do need to take the painkillers to help you once you get in pain that area starts to become tense again and spasms could start.
Hopefully your next BM will be easier and you won't need the painkillers.
