Cal/Mag HARDENS my stools!!

Postby dwarfs8 » 07 Dec 2011, 03:31

ok, this is weird, i'm not sure if anyone has the same problem as me.
I was taking magnesium oxide 400mg for 3mths+ and thought since i'm planning to conceive, i need to try take some calcium together with magnesium. So i bought a bottle of cal 500mg/mag 250mg and instead of taking 2 tabs, i took only 1 tab.
I took it 2 nights, and both days i have SEMI-HARD BULKY stools, some stings and pain when exiting. I seldom have these when i was taking mag oxide, so i know very well that the change to cal/mag has caused this. So i did some research on the internet and found out that not only calcium in excess can cause constipation, but cal/mag binds to the stools and cause it to lose fluid, hence hardening it!
MY GOSH! All the straining i have had these 2 days, including 1 hurt anus. I stopped it already, last night i took magnesium oxide and i have my usual soft well-formed stools this morning. THANK GOD!
I really have NO IDEA how am i gonna start my prenatal supplement in future!!
Learn from my mistake guys!
