Post Op Day 6

Postby Sue1962 » 15 Jan 2012, 21:20

So here I am post op day 6. I really don't have any news to share except that I feel absolutely wonderful. No pain, no bleeding (since surgery day) My swelling is almost completely gone and bruising is minimal. I had been in constant pain daily before surgery like an 8 on the 1-10 scale, and it is gone. I have not had a spasm since 2:15 Monday afternoon, when they took me to the OR. Surgery was 9 minutes and I was on the road to gohome at 4. I can't believe how anxious I was to have this done and put it off in hopes of healing it myself for 3 years. This was a piece of cake. The first few days, were a bit uncomfortable, but Advil took care of it. Like I said before. I never took a pain pill only advil. Fissure pain and spasm pain is 100% worse!!! I have had no incontinence, just a very tiny amount of drainage the first few days. I never used cotton, or gauze. I went to the grocery store and ran a few errands yesterday, today didn't do much, was watching football. How bout' those GIANTS!!! I did some laundry and cooked dinner. I guess while I was cooking I was singing in the kitchen and my husband came in and put his arms around me and said "it sure is good to have my baby girl back" well, I just cried. I told another boardie. I had been in pain for so long, I forgot who I was. But the old Sue is back!!! I beat this damn fissure!!! It will not control me anymore!!! For Dawn and Hope I will be forever grateful and If I am ever in Florida or Canada I will PM you and take you out for a drink!! Life without pain is so beautiful!!! Well, I did cut my finger pretty deep today, but that is the only pain I have.

Isn't it great not to be in debilitating pain everyday? Image Drinks are on me Image But I don't recommend a trip up here right now .... it's freakin' COLD!! Image (I hate winter ... watch out, Dawn - I'm moving to Florida!!)
Your hubby must be SO happy. Mine is now too. He watched me suffer so much for such a long time - I'm sure he was hurting a lot too. But he was so wonderful, taking such good care of me.
What the heck happened to your finger??? Did you get so excited about having your life back you were juggling knives? Image I hope it doesn't hurt too much. Image

LOL...Hope. I am in Maryland and it is freezing here too. 16* out this morning.....Brrrr. Well, stop by and pick me up on your way to Dawn's...I want to go too!!! My hubby is exstatic!!! He watched me suffer for oh so long and did hurt him too b/c he could do nothing to take it away. Mine also took care of me, especially the first few days after surgery. I was cutting a ham and my finger slipped and the knife found my finger...OUCH. Is ok this morning!! I'll take this pain anyday!!!
