16+ Weeks post LIS

Postby TonyStone » 20 Jan 2012, 14:47

Hello,
Havent been on in quite a while, after surgery I needed a break from reading about pain.
BUTT, here I am. Had my surgery last week of Sept and I would say I am
at about 90%. I have a "skidmark" here and there and still have blood on
toilet paper, not sure if that is from fissure or hemmoriod.
I have had a great recovery and even the setbacks I have (blood, etc) it wasnt painful so I really didnt let it bother me. I got my life back and I was at the point where I could barely leave the house except for work and it was just
awful to get through the day.
I slowly stopped Miralax over a 2 or 3 month period. Now fiber one cereal, fiber bars and metamucil twice a day seem to do the trick.
I will go back for my second follow up appt when I can afford the 50 co-pay.
Sorry I am not on as much, it is hard to keep reading the stories of pain when you just want to put it behind you. If I could go back, I would have had the surgery in 2005 instead of "dealing" with it.
If anyone needs advice feel free to message me, I also have a before and after pic of my butthole if anyone is interested... No?? Alright, the offer stands.
Tony

Well, well the infamous TonyStone!!! Great to see you back man!!! I am so happy you are doing well. I sure do miss your comedy on here. Whole new bunch of people the numbers keep growing. I finally caved and had my surgery 1/9/12. I can't believe I waited so long to do it. It was cake!!! I am only on day 11 but after day three, life was good!!! Life is good again. I know what you mean about being on the other side and reading about everyone's pain and suffering. I almost feel guilty, because I feel so good. I am paying it forward though. There are a couple on here I am waiting to see if they have surgery, and if they do I will be here for them, but then I too, think it will be time to move on. I will probably check from time to time, but not like I am now. Good seeing you back on if even for a minute. Take care Tony!! Image

Thanks all, I am glad you had it done Sue, sounds like your experience was fairly easy too. I didnt even want to talk about it because I was afraid I would jinx it.

I hear ya all~
I keep reading so many scary post op posts, and not wanting to jinx myself debated weather to post now. But here I am, on day 4, post LIS, and I feel soooooo much better. :) I have my life back (barring a future setback!)
But thanks to all who post their thoughts, it was a deciding factor in my deciding to go ahead with the procedure. I only had the fissure for two months, but felt like throwing myself in front of a speeding train! Then I read about some of you living with this for YEARS, and I'm like- nooo way~
Thanks again, like my name says, I thought I was tough until this 'issue' kicked my butt! Lol
Good luck & speedy recover too all.
And do LIS!!!! :)
