Post Surgery

Postby Quiggles » 06 Feb 2012, 06:39

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted and a week ago I had my surgery. I had my fissure repaired and a skin tag removed. I am a week post surgery and have a lot of discomfort and pain still when using the bathroom. It still feels like a big cut and have a lot of burning. Is this common? Thanks.

Hi Quiggles,
Sorry you are experiencing pain and discomfort, but happy for you that it's all over, and you will soon be feeling much better.
I have not had surgery, but there are many here who have, and hopefully hopetoheal might come on with info about here successful LIS, and there are many others here who have experienced the pain and discomfort that go with the first week after the surgery.
I can suggest is that you look up some of the 'oldies' reports under the same link that you have posted your message.
Hope you will feel better very soon. Hope you are drinking lots of water, using Miralax, and pampering yourself and your rear. Also, if you don't feel happy about the pain you're experiencing, the best person to speak to is the doctor who did your op.
Wish you better soon Image

Thanks for responding and I will look for more info on the site and hope some people will post. I think it is the area where the skin tag was removed that is causing the most discomfort. Image

Hoping that you have a very speedy recovery. I am scheduled for my LIS on the 27th. Please keep coming back with progress reports. As others have said, now is definitely a time to pamper yourself. That said, keep you diet simple and light, and your stool softeners handy. Good luck!

Couldn't they remove the skin tag when the surgery was being performed? Would the recovery have been so much worse?
You take care.
EDIT: Oops I just realized that they had in fact removed the skin tag. I'm assuming then that part is far more painful than the other. Again, take care.

Hope that you are beginning to feel better. Have read just about everywhere that having the skin tag removed can be very painful, so sorry you're going through it. Image
