happyass here

Postby happyass » 09 Dec 2006, 21:42

i thought i would say hello and celebrate some good news with my profile name 'happyass'.
stats:
my fissure problems started august 2004.
got worse but i still ran a marathon.
my first visit to a Colon Rectal Surgeon was april 2005.
although surgery was discussed, that was reserved for our fourth strategy. first strategy was to conquer the fissure with appropriate fiber diet and some behavior modification and education.
bowel movements improved from constipation to soft serve consistency.
although this helped with the fissure, i had an increase in gas.
where i was doing well with the fissure, i suspect somewhere i developed a infant hemmy.
fissure and baby hemmy, in the same neighborhood, made life difficult all through 2005 thru early 2006.
went to argentina may 2006. found some magic drops that instantly undo constipation. going to the bathroom was easy now. but as with anything, i didn't want to depend on these drops forever. plus they are only found in argentina so i wanted to keep some in case of emergencies.
from that point, i suspect that my problems were no longer fissure related, but a very aggrevated thrombosed vein - the baby hemmy.
fissure under control. no more bleeding. no more razors come out of the ass feeling.
but i still had intense throbbing, long lasting pain. i knew where this was located - baby hemmy.
i started to not try to force my gas out.
i started to avoid all straining.
i started to use this amazing hemmy cream found at whole foods in october.
i started to feel better.
recently i started looking into macrobiotics and modifying my diet.
now i feel back to normal, can have a bowel movement with very little mental anguish worrying about the hemmy or the fissure.
i have been feeling good for two weeks now - normal - i haven't felt normal since august 2004.
diet plays such an important part to healing this thing.
preparing for your bowel movement and what you do after also are important. for instance, using the right wipes for cleaning your bum, making sure to avoid witch hazel or washing with anus with soap, blow drying your anus dry after every shower, absolutely no straining whatsoever, having your 35-40 g of fiber a day, lots of water, warm showers for your bum.
i am truly a happyass now! :king:
i look forward to contributing on the forums.

Hi sailorgal and welcome! I don't think that Happyass comes by much these days, but if you take a look under the Memberlist you will find his name, and posts started by him which my lead you to an answer to your question. Like quite a few who healed, he stayed around for quite some time and then started living his pain free life again. He has some great posts with humor and advice!
