Aloe Vera Juice

Postby rasmith3530 » 08 Mar 2012, 22:13

Hey fellow sufferers. As I was waiting for my perscripion to be filled the other day, I noticed Aloe Vera juice. There were a couple different sizes, one being about a gallon and the other being about a quart. I'm wondering what the use of this stuff is.

Hi Rob,
I used to drink Aloe Vera juice when I had stomach pains last year. You drink an ounce or two a day and it is sort of a panacea of anything intestinal.
I can't say as it really helped. I love aloe vera, but I think deglycerized licorice was much more effective in helping me.

Aloe vera is wonderful on burns and cuts. I tried putting it on my fissure but it was nigh impossible to get it up there. I found it to be very healing for the "outside" fissures and ulcers I get when I eat gluten though. I drank some and it tastes like pickle juice - yuk!

I had noted that the gallon size was not flavored, but the smaller quart bottle was "berry" flavored. I'm wondering what berry flavored pickle juice must taste like? ;-)
Out of curiosity Baba, were you applying the straight juice, or an Aloe Vera cream to your fissure? I've noted that the Prep H towlettes contain Aloe Vera, and I am aware of its use for cuts and such (in ointment form), just never saw it in a juice form before.

I was using the plain unflavoured juice, because it's the best for that purpose I think. The creams don't usually have a great concentration of aloe in them.
I used to have an aloe vera plant. The poor thing never had a chance to grow much as we were always plucking the leaves to squeeze the gel on minor skin injuries. It's amazing how the gel soothes the pain of minor burns and cuts a person gets in the kitchen.
