Hi All
I thought I would pop by and let everyone know how I am doing 2.5 months post op. I saw my CRS last week for my final post op check and he said everything is healed and looking beautiful. Well, IMO how could that look beautiful....LOL Anyway, I am feeling great, no pain, no bleeding no horrible spasms for hours, no anything. I have felt great since day 5 post op and it is only getting better. This surgery, (I only had LIS) has saved my sanity and has totally given me my life back. I can't believe it has been 2 months already, 2 months in my AF days seemed soooo long. I am still taking Miralax, a little less than 1/2 a cap. I don't know if it is doing anything with such a little amount, but I am weaning myself off of it slowly. I actually ran out the other night and didn't have any problems the next day, but just paranoid I guess will wean off of it eventually. I am eating and drinking whatever I want, doing things I haven't done for years.
The weather is getting beautiful and I can't wait to garden, do some yardwork and get on my Harley which has been parked far too long!!! I hope this helps some that are on the fence. The surgery itself is just a discomfort, nothing like the pain of a raging AF!! Recovery for me was a breeze after the 4th day. I never took a pain pill only Advil. I have never had any incontinence. My AF was very old 3 years and very deep, down to the muscle. I love my CRS, but he gave me my walking papers on March 2nd and said If I need him he is there, but he doubts I will be back. Said everything healed well and to enjoy my life!!!
That is my story and I am ending this chapter of my life hopefully, forever!! I would have never made it alone. This forum saved my sanity and gave me the courage to have my surgery, and I made some new friends from all over the world!!! So even though that damn AF caused me much grief for 3 years, I did get something positive from it, I made some great new friends and I live each day as if it were my last. I don't sweat the small stuff anymore!!! Hugs to all of you!!
