anal fissure

Postby c123 » 13 Apr 2012, 18:36

hello all,
i wanted to post this with an issue that i have been having..
For the past 5 month i have been having pressure, itiching, burning and some bleeding when i go to pass bowel. The bleeding is not much, some days its fine and no bleeding, some days its little and i will get it on the toilet paper and some days i see it in the bowel, not much just couple drips. I went to a doctor here, thinking that they are piles and he took a look and said that they are not hemorrhoids. He asked me if i was having hard stools. He said that due to hard stools your skin is getting cracks/ tears when you pass bowels. He gave me a cream (triamcinolone acetonide cream usp 0.1) to apply and i started using it but stopped because it is a steroid based cream. It was actually thinning the skin so i stopped using it. When i have hard bowl movements it feels a lot of pain like its cutting or knife like pain. then i feel like pressure at the anus hole. Then when it is relaxed i feel nothing.. It feels normal.
Can anyone give me any tips at to what i can do to heal these or at least try to heal these. i was thinking about the aloe Vera but didn't know where to find 100% cream.
thanks

The very best thing you can do is eat fibre foods and take a stool softener so that the stool is soft when it passes. If you keep passing hard stool the fissure will not heal. Oh yes, and drink a couple of litres of water every day, on top of anything else you may drink.

I second what Baba says!
You can find aloe vera gel in most drug stores and health stores. Look for one that doesn't have alcohol in it. You'll never find quite 100% as there has to be some kind of preservatives.
But really passing soft stools (like toothpaste) so you don't have to push at all, is the key to healing.
