scared and hopeless

Postby skipperlily » 19 May 2012, 05:30

Please help me. I've had an excruciating fissure since Feb. Been to a specialist and received a compound with lidocaine and something to relax the sphincter. It is not helping. I cannot get my stools the right consistency even with miralax. I am now drinking prune juice and taking a teaspoon of metamucil a day. The pain lasted for hours and hours after the bm yesterday. I am exhausted and depressed. Please help!!

Hi Skipperlily,
Hasn't your CRS suggested another route to try, like botox?
Since February seems like a long time to be trying the salves and not improving. I mean if you were improving, that would be one thing. It can take months and months. But if there has been no improvement, I would think they would have suggested the next 'stage' of therapy options.

I know exactly how you feel and my heart goes out to you. The things you are doing did not work for me either. If you're making no progress, you might want to look over the post I made on a routine that healed me up in 4 weeks:

Fixing these things is not easy at all and can be almost as painful psychologically as they are physically. For me it required the utmost discipline and a complete change of my entire life's routine. The same might just be required of you.
I wish you the best.
