Fissure Someone PLEASE HELP!

Postby Raja1 » 09 Jun 2012, 11:09

Hi,
I'm new to all this and had never heard of a fissure before until today. My partner started getting bad pains in her stomach 7 years ago. Her pain mainly started by having really bad periods, so bad that she couldn't leave the house. Time went by and she got worse and the doctors well they didn't really know what it was. She was like that for a few years until things got even more worse and she began to say that she feels as though something is cutting her in the back passage, she would cry in pain and I felt so helpless. The doctors did many scans and also operations but still found nothing instead they said that she has a lot of gas in her stomach. About 2 years ago after trying different hospitals we gave it another go and went to St Heliers hospital, within this time she had taken lots of different medication and been given lots of different creams to apply in the back passage. Going there was probably the best thing that happened because they found out that she has a Fissure which is causing her a lot of pain. The bad thing was that she didn't only have 1 but had 3 Fissures. She went through surgery but the fissures didn't heal. Two months ago she went through another surgery but again it doesn't look like its healed. She's on her period right now and has gone through hell, she has also had blood come out from the back passage. I am so worried and don't know what to do I get angry and frustrated with myself because apart from showing her that I'm there and I'm not going anywhere I can't do anything else. Please if anyone knows what to do then please help me

Omg Raja, I am so sorry for your partner's pain and suffering, as well as the mental anguish this is causing you. Fissures are so physically and mentally challenging and we know can break one's spirit...leaving us with feelings of despair and hopelessness. You are to be commended for your continued support of your partner...she really needs it.
What kind of surgeries has she had?
Does she presently have a specialist..crs..that is monitoring her condition, and offering any meds to assist through the pain?
How about sitz baths? She should be doing these several times a day to promote healing.
Is she following a fissure friendly fiber diet with plenty of water to aid with soft bm's to prevent straining?
I wish I could say I really have an idea of what's going on here...but I'm sorry to say I'm at at a loss, especially since she's had two surgeries for this, as to why the pain continues as severely as it does.
My opinion would be stay vigilant in seeking out a crs who could offer you more/different professional in-sight as to what may be happening here. There could be another underlying issue that is preventing healing...and
the best way to hopefully resolve this, though also frustrating, is
staying persistent with seeking medical professionals to assist.
If you search the tips page, you'll see many natural remedies along with personalized diets that have helped others manage their condition. In the meantime, there may be something there that you haven't tried for her that could offer some relief.
I will keep you both in my prayers for a path that leads to the answers and healing you are seeking. Image
