Sorry to jump in but is it bad if there's tons of normal coloured blood? The amount that drips?

WTSS,
My suggestion of a CRS is just from my own experience, and that of so many on the forum. I saw my GP about six times while in a lot of pain, 2 FNPs, and a general surgeon, but only when I got to see a CRS (and that required a flight, hotel and expense) did I actually get an answer.
But, you might have a gem in your GP, so if you are happy, then I would stay with the GP.
And you're right, this fissure thing does suck Image

An answer, like "you got an anal fissure" or what? My GP only needed a quick look to confirm that I indeed have an anal fissure.

If you stool is big and hard, it sounds like you might be eating a little too much to handle right now. I noticed my fissures started healing much faster once I cut back on my food portions and stuck to eating "soft foods" like split pea soup, apple sauce, etc. I ate only soft foods and took plenty of miralax and it helped like nothing else!
