I have been healing pretty well since the LIS in July. But if I don't take the laxative, I find that I can go a day or two without a bm. Then I take it, since I'm afraid to have a tramautic bm and start the problems all over again.
Also, my gallbladder is acting up again, I wonder if that is related to my lifelong struggle with constipation, which in turn probably caused all these other problems, such as the fissure?

Have you considered using Miralax instead of senosides? Mirilax is an osmotic laxative, which means that it increases the amount of water in the intestinal tract to stimulate bowel movements. Most CRS recommend this.
Senna is in a class of medications called stimulant laxatives. It works by increasing activity of the intestines to cause a bowel movement.

Thanks for your suggestion, Savaici. I did see that many recommend Miralax, but I haven't been able to find it here in Mexico. I will keep looking for it. I have found milk of magnesium, so maybe I can try that meantime? Everyone here in Mexico seems to take senosides or fiber.
