To nitro or not to nitro -- that is the question!

Postby ajl1239 » 21 Oct 2012, 16:21

Hi guys,
I've been on a fairly strict diet and have had soft stools since (knock on wood) -- also, it has helped the pain to reduce. When the sitz bath is added, I think I've been 'ok'...
So, I went to the doctor and got Rectiv (nitro 0.4%) -- do you guys think I should take it just to support healing in some sort of way? Or is it better to use it only if the pain returns?
Thanks for all support!

Use it once a day or every 12 hours (recommended), it can only help with the healing process, don't give the pain a chance!!

Cheers mates -- I think I will give it a shot.
But, I have a question -- it's so hard for me to actually find the opening and insert. Any tips? I am thinking a cue tip might be best? Just treat the cue tip as I would a finger? I can't see anything...even with a mirror...

I apply the ointment with my finger always, and make sure you get it in up to the first knuckle for effectiveness. A Q Tip should be ok but I'm not sure you'd get enough on it to make a difference
