OMB,
Don't panic!!! For some time after my fissure had healed and after my Fistulomy surgery, I would get that odd strong twinge/ sear of pain from the area. I think it just happens sometimes when you've been suffering in that very sensitive anal area and it's also (strangely enough) a sign of healing at times (Well, my CRS advised that it was normal).......If it was a one-off, sure you have nothing to fear!! It is scarey. If I get even a mild twinge today I panic for a few seconds but then realise it has stopped and then it's OK.
Hoping you'll be fine & it's just normal :)
