I have one fissure, one hemorroid, one fissure and then another hemorroid..
I have tried Polysporin with anestetic (sp?), Anugesic, Proctsydl, Fucidin, Diltiazem and Xylocaine. The Diltiazem left me raw from nocturnal involuntary itching. Ugh. I am taking 4 tablespoons of Benefibre per day along with 5 Colace tablets. I went back to the surgeon on Wednesday and he gave me a prescription for Nitro.
Late Thursday night I thought I try it. I took a less than pea sized amount on one of my 'finger puppets' and placed it inside on the fissures. The BURNING was unbearable and I tried to wipe it off with a washcloth. I started to get warm and saw bright lights and I had to sit down. What a rush. I almost fainted.
I'm guessing this is an adverse effect??? Does this happen to everyone who uses Nitro. Do I call the surgeon back and ask what's next?
I'm wondering if just letting things 'dry out' is a better option at this point.
