I'm a few hours out of surgery. Dr said that the fissure was of decent size, but everything went well. Now I'm trying to drink plenty of fluids and eating a little bit. Not having a lot of pain, but mostly pressure that is quite uncomfortable.

It's about 4:30 a.m. and about 14 hours post surgery. I actually got up to eat something, because I was hungry, which is good because it is the first time I have literally wanted something to eat. I had quite a bit of pain at about 6:00 last night, which was a few hours after surgery, so I relented and took a Norco. It knocked the pain out about 30 minutes later, thank God. :) The great thing is that right now I really don't have much pain at all, and I haven't taken any pain meds in about 10 hours. I think the fun will be in a few hours when I have to take the bandages off and take a shower. All in all I am doing well. It was pretty rough last night when the pain got pretty bad, but thankfully my wife did her best to take care of me.

Now I am about 30 hours post surgery and doing decent. My wife had to help me take the bandages off(lucky her), because I obviously couldn't see it very well. It hurt more from the tape pulling hairs. Now I've still been bleeding slightly, but not bad. Still no BM, but I've had some mild gas release. I haven't taken any pain meds since early this morning, because I really haven't needed them. I haven't eaten much because I've been a little nauseous, but have been really good with the fiber intake, stool softeners, and plenty of fluids. Hopefully once I do have a BM it will be smooth. I'm sure it will hurt no matter what, but I'm hoping for the best. Thanks for the support out there. It has been helpful knowing there are people out there knowing what I'm going through. Good luck with everyone else!
