Standardised Anal Dilatation

Postby palash » 16 Dec 2012, 06:38

Hello everyone! I'm back! Board exams are over and I'm super super super happy!!!!! True, it did hurt during the 1st week of exams, but God was kind enough to make the rest of the exam period pain free! So during the year end hols, I went over to India to give full attention to my fissure problem. I've heard that the doctors there are super experienced and one doctor in particular, has been treating 5 to 20 fissure cases every day! Thankfully, he is my mum's friend's dad, so he agreed to do whatever was necessary FOC:D anyway, I'll tell you guys how it went...
Morning 7 AM,
-Woke up and took a shit( note: I've been pain free for 2 weeks but I still wanted to make sure I will never be in pain again )
-Got ready( No breakfast, to prepare for GA)
12-ish,
- Reached the hospital. I was very very very terrified by then:P
- Went straight to the OT( note: no preps like enemas, no questions, not much paperwork;) that's how it works in India
- Went under( Ketamine, I believe. It's a hallucinogen )
*I saw blue and yellow matchboxes forming a carpet, and then ironman(tony stark) flew across that carpet.... LOL?*
Can't remember the time I woke up,
- Started screaming violently( common when recovering from a ketamine dose)
- eyes couldn't focus
-lips, mouth, throat and tongue bone dry
-hallucinating that batman was outside the window
4-ish,
-overheard my parents and the doc talking
-something about a standardised 3 finger anal dilatation
-something about my sphincter tone or something being 'fibroid'?
-something about manually tearing the fibres?
-Dozed off and woke up in the hotel room
So, that's that. I welcome any questions you may have about the procedure, like how damn uncomfortable and painful it was to remove the bloody blood soaked packing from my backside, and then shove a dicolfenac suppository up my hole Image
As of now, I'm still super woozy from the anesthesia. Still hallucinating and stuff. No BM yet, but I did let out some gas....and oh my god it really felt different! Normally when I let out gas I have to lift my leg or strain, but now it didn't require any of that. Definitely very loose down there:) not in too much pain now, an occasional twang here and there. Hoping all goes well:)

I hope your procedure was a success Palash... Keep us posted on your progress. I have not seen much info on anal dilation so would be really interested to hear.
Take care

1st BM ten minutes back,
Not painful, but felt terribly weird when it came out so effortlessly. Nothing much to comment on other than that

I am so sorry guys!!! Absolutely no wifi or Internet connectivity at the place of my residence!!! Truly apologize for not updating. Well anyways, healing was a little bit uncomfortable( sore, sitz baths, pain killers ) and it is definitely a hundred times better than the recovery from LIS. Now, my sphincter has healed slightly from the stretch so it has gone a bit tighter, but a lot less tight than what it originally was. I feel great, as if I've crossed over to the other "side". No pain, no worries, absolutely brilliant!!!! I would also like to send a message to all sufferers out there, and here goes:
Even I thought my life was over when it all began. I thought this was going to stay forever, and at times I felt suicidal. Let me tell you, fellow sufferers. This is not cancer. Very painful, yes. But NOT life threatening. This will be over soon for you guys, so be optimistic about the future than to grieve the present. In my opinion, SAD( standardized anal dilatation, primarily done in India ) is a billion times better than LIS, so if you are looking for treatment, go for SAD. I guess this is where I will take my leave from this forum, and I hope to never return again whilst in pain. A big thank you to all boardies who empathized and consoled me during my suffering, and for that I will be ever grateful. With you always,
Palash
