I'm having the soft stool, but the pain of relaxing afterwards has got to be addressed. I am literally od'ing on over the counter pain meds...Aleve 4 200mgs a day or 4 max strength Tylenol or 2 800mg of IBuf. My doctor will give me nothing....I really hate this guy (smile).

try a sitz bath ,or a nice hot bath have you been given the nitro cream ,this calms down the muscles and spasams and brings blood to the area to aid healing

For some ungodly reason my doctor, both the surgeon and my primary care ph. think diet alone will help me. I got px for anucort and fiber pills, thats it...nothing for the pain. I don't get these guys at all...its extremely frustrating going this thing alone when no one understands the amount of pain your in. I begged my doct for pain meds and he thought I was a crack head asking for the pipe (smile)...my only wish..is that he too someday is inflicted with my pain....to understand its severity.

did they look down there?have they seen your fissure?

Yeah, they saw it...its a fissure. Its on one side, and it has all the attributes of a fissure tear

did they do a colonoscopy? my doc said he couldnt see mine and that gi specialist would have to use a camera.is your tear near outside? i guess mine is up inside

Unfortunately, narcotics are constipating, which will only make your problem worse. A warm bath after a BM can really help the pain. Was your surgeon a colorectal surgeon? You need a prescription for either nirtroglycetin or nifedipine (or diltiazem) to help relax the sphincter and release the muscle tension on the wound. Some people find it helpful to also use a local anesthetic like lidocaine or benzocaine, but this has never helped me. It only stings and irritates more. The key is the soft BMs, no straining, a prescription topical, and the warm baths. Alternatively, short applications of ice insulated by a washcloth to avoid tissue damage can really help the pain.
If all conservative measures fail, then Botox or surgery is the next step to start considering.
So sorry you are hurting so much and that your doctors are treating this so casually. The pain of fissures is life altering in every way, and needs to be addressed seriously.

My rip is near the base, the opening. He placed his fingers up my bum and pulled out blood clots, thats how close to my opening it was.

Thanks....right now, I'm on a all liquid diet for the next two weeks...hopefully this will give me enough relief to at least began some type of healing....because yes, on the rare occassions when I have a soft stool, no pain at all...however the relaxing the tissue causes me the most stress regardless of soft or hard...thus the pain meds.
I just left the Phama. and my px for anucort because I can no longer afford these suppository's that do nothing for me. I do the warm baths which help at night, but its too temporary. I want this thing gone forever (smile). So I'll do the liquids and if this doesn't work, I just don't know....I can't afford the surgery, my doct. wants 1/3 up front, which I can't afford even with insurance. I just don't know.
I can't however give up my meds....after each bm, I spend the entire day in pain crying....I can't give up the meds. My job is a sit down job and I have to have something to restrain my pain....thus the liquids

Do you think we could survive a month on soup?
I'm not sure this would help me, as I'm often very loose as it is and then when a big one finally comes I get the issue...
