Thanks for the good lucks,
I had my surgery and explained the long journey home. I was given maximum dose of painkillers and also had local anaesthetic to numb the area. Journey was uncomfortable, but better than I thought. I had a pillow under either bum cheek to lift myself up a bit.
On day 3 now. Had 2 quite pain free BMs, which i was extremely pleased about. After the last surgery a BM was so so painful for about 2 weeks. But this time it felt looser, and I felt no fissure pain. Only pain I have is my incision, which is hurting me quite a lot, but this doesnt really surprise me. It feels very tight so when I bend or put weight on it is really sore.
I feel confident that when this settles down though, i will be pain free, as like i said i feel no fissure pain.
I saw mr windsor after my surgery, he said there was no evidence of previous surgery, so it must have been done very conservativly. He approached it like he would if it was my first surgery, and cut 5 mm of sphincter. he said my fissure was very nasty and he feels I took the right option. He said if everything goes well to just give him a ring to save travelling down to london again, so fingers crossed. I have been having quite a lot of baths to keep things clean, as i am not really able to wipe the area because the incision is very sore and tight.
I noticed that when i dab the area there is browny discharge, i dont know if this is wound drainage, or feaces..hoping its the wound! I feel i have control of BM and gas, so all seems good on the incontinence front. I will update in a few days, hopefully with improvements.
