That isn't that bad actually. I thought it would be a lot more!
I had a good run on the Nitro, but as you know once I stopped I was back to square one. Give it a bit more time, then get it sorted, which it sounds like you will anyway!

I believe that the gauze method works for superficial fissures, the ones that happen on the outside and you can see them.
The problem is that while that area of the fissure or the beginnin of the fissure heals, the deep fissure or the other end of the fissure is the one that you can not see and the doctor can only inspect while going inside the anus and that is painful.
Those are the ones that take longer to heal because their location and the constant movement of the sphincter, once chronic or it has gotten to the muscle fiber only surgery can help.
So I see how a gauze can help some and others would not.
