LIS surgery in UK or some EU country

Postby pinpin » 19 Jun 2013, 04:22

Hello members!
As you probably were following my posts, we have not specialists doing LIS in my country(Latvia).
Though, I have resources to make it any other country. But you know it is tricky and still connected to expenses.
I would bet for London, as I know English and we have direct flight there, also I know that before to get LIS it takes some visits to doctors to try first line remedies, which I am already trying and will try botox.
Also I know it takes time to get appointment, so I would like to see for solution in London already know. I have no good friends there, but probably I will find where to stay.
Though, I need help from you advising me some really good CSRs in London, whom will be open and listen to the problem. Also would be able to do LIS surgery. I would establish contacts and appointment already now as it may take time, as well as book flights.
It all sounds difficult, but if botox will not help, what option do I have, nobody here does LIS, and I don't want to be first trial for some of CSR here. I am ready to expenses and stress, but I will have to return my life back you know.
Probably some of you happy with LIS outcome, would recommend your surgeons.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate if some of you will be able to help out.

Ok, not many advices, probably nobody is from London.
I have started with London Bridge Hospital. They have special section for international patients.
Also wrote mails to private clinic bowel surgery london co uk
Also to 108 harleystreet and nwlh.nhs.uk.
This is something I googled in first pages. Not sure if good ones, but this London Bridge looks like serous.

Hi,
Yeah I can't praise Mr Windsor highly enough.  For me personally he put an end to my suffering in no time and I have not had any problems since my LIS surgery in March 2012
Also take a look at the post by andy123k 'travelling for surgery' as he also under Mr Windsors care
On a final note my GP told me to avoid London Bridge Hospital but I don't know the reasons why

Thank you all, got in touch. And following feedback
if the cream fails to treat the problem, there is a surgical option. I have included the approximate costs for such a procedure below:

 • Day case lateral spincterotomy of anus - Ј200
 • Anaesthetist - Ј150
 • Theatre/Hospital - Ј1,335
 • 2 month follow up - Ј195

The total approximate cost of the surgery would therefore be around Ј2,500. This cost should be treated as an estimate and not a guarantee of costs.
I have forwarded your enquiry to the office of Mr Alastair Windsor, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and his secretary will be in touch with you shortly to arrange an appointment. If you would prefer to contact the secretary direct, the contact details are as follows:

Well appointment is on 8th of August, possible surgery on 14th of August.
They cannot make it easier to me, so I have to find where to stay in London for week, or probably just flight twice.

You can come to Finland to have your surgery:) Here's where I had mine: http://www.dextra.fi/en
Even though I'm still not fully healed I think the surgeon did a good job. But I don't know how going to a private clinic like this works for someone who's a foreigner.
The whole surgery cost me about 600 Ђ not cointing the appointments before and after which were about 85 Ђ each.

I am afraid I will not be confident due to fact that I speak only English, not Finnish. But thanks for link, price is much less actually, than in UK.
I am in such difficult situation now to select right choice.
1. Botox locally
2. LIS or Botox in UK.
3. Give it a time.
It is really difficult to choose. Today during dilation with applicator some blood appeared from my fissure. Though it was not painful. Interesting that after dilation is much easier to see all anus tunnel in mirror, and very easy to find fissure. It is so small! about 3x3 mm, but bleeding, and shitty painful! The rest of wound is more pink probably this is fresh scar, who knows :)
Btw, nobody had idea to have photo gallery with fissures and butts? :))
And about online chat somebody wanted to get one, I can easily setup the one if still interested.
Ahh, God help me to make right choice!
