.............glutamine-healing hmmm

Postby Guest » 27 Jun 2013, 12:49

Hi all, still buttastic here. Going for three years now without any new ass-assins. Good to see others taking the plunge to join here albeit we wish for better reasons huh.
So it seems this A-acid (glutamine) has been discussed here three times before 2006, 2008, 2011 was the latest-   analfissure.editboard.com/search?search_keywords=+glutamine. Checked the threads but did not see these gorgeous sites...

If you want to know more about healing, these are good places for reading.
I learned how important protein and healing is the hard way.. T & E. The better part of 20 years dealing with Afs gave me some interesting insights.
I donate plasma all the time and whenever I would get a fissure my protein levels would drop below the safe line for me to donate-values of 6-9 is what I needed to stay within. The nurses could not understand why I kept falling below these averages. I was too embarrassed to tell them its probably because of my fishes(piranhas)!!--right??!!.
I made a huge mistake in taking in too much protein to try and compensate for my AFs and not getting too low in my protein. I seemed to have caused toxic levels of protein to cause my kidneys to be overworked and one day one of my kidneys felt like it was twice its normal size.
So during a routine finger prick test at the plasma center my albumin-(another amino) levels were way low. So low the plasma Dr. told me to have this checked before allowing me to donate anymore.
Long story short this was some time ago and I'm ok now, my "kidns" seem to be fine and I continue to donate regularly. But we can overdo it on the protein front as I researched and discovered first hand; I was taking in 3-4 times the dailly allownace trying to keep my protein levels acceptable.
I'll share more ex's and ob's, but look at the time, i have to go..

Oh Buttastic..I just luv your One line butt jokes..Keep reading Buttastics post's, believe me he will make you laugh, so hard you will cry..or sh-t in your pant's, better yet, take your laptop into the washroom then...Image
that's great news Butt.  Its a good idea to get your body ready for surgury, the foods, vitamins , protein ,what ever it takes, you will be better when you come out.Image
THIS IS amazing..What high-glutamine foods can do for you:
Maintain the health of your intestinal tract(my Doctor stressed more digestible protein, less beef)
Help your body produce glutathione, a key antioxidant nutrient
Ensure proper acid-base balance in your body
   Help maintain your muscle mass
The following events can indicate a need for more high-glutamine foods:
Regular high-intensity exercise
Severe burns
Frequent colds and flus
Intestinal dysbiosis, e.g., irritable bowel syndrome
Low muscle mass or muscle wasting( my doctor said even the wasting of our smooth pelvic floor muscle)
Food sources of glutamine include cabbage, beets, beef, chicken, fish, beans, and dairy products.
