Ahh.... It's always sad when a relationship breaks up.. Even if its the right thing to do.
You are bound to be all over the place emotionally for a while.... But keep on doing what your doing....you will come out the other side, stronger for it.

Welsh,
Sorry to hear about your break-up too! but all these things only make us stronger, no matter how hard & painful!
It was interesting to read about your experience with the Diltiazem and your GP - Just goes to show how little some truly know about the pains of a fissure.
Interestingly, the GP who finally helped me through my final stages, gave me a prescription for 3 tubes of the stuff, which I found incredibly generous!! and he was very old & wise. He isn't a man of many words but his parting comment to me was profound and made me realise he "understood" -
He said "I bet no-one's ever told you exactly how long an anal fissure takes to heal, have they?" - and then he just smiled.......Bless him........
Keep healing Welsh & keep up that sense of humour with it all!!! xx

Butt Blog update: Day 31
Soooo hot to sleep last night! My gosh. Tossing and turning. Have to be really careful shuffling my butt around so as not to retear from that. Bloody heat!
So had a BM this afternoon. I'm getting pretty good at reading my pressure feelings. As soon as I feel a bit full down there, I can walk across the building pushing gently and by the time I get to the loo ( I have now chosen my favourite cubicle in work - how sad)
Had a beautiful BS 6. Very pleased with myself. All this hard work is paying off. Not much pushing, it just falls out.
Again thank you all for your continued support! You guys have made it possible to get to this point. I love you guys!
ETO the GP must have felt bad for mentioning the price and back tracked a bit? But like you said he may not have known much about them. I have it on repeat now which is excellent. This one however says it needs to be kept in the fridge. My other one did not. Anyone else's need to be kept in the fridge?
Come on you Botoxers!!

Welsh,
I had to keep all my tubes in the fridge. I think there is a difference between the cream and an ointment? I remember reading something here before.........
I didn't realise you can now get it without prescription on-line!!! Check this out!

Holy macaroni ETO! Movicol online.., Diltiazem online... What next? Butt Botox online?
But after my GPs kind response to the cream price, I'm going to get my tax paying moneys worth of the NHS. For free!
Botox is probably the 2nd most expensive group of pharmaceuticals behind cancer drugs. So I'm very lucky. But the difference was, my CRS didn't make a big deal of it costing anything, he saw the pain in my eyes. And until you have experienced passing a razor blade everyday for 3 years, you know not of pain my friends!
Good to know you can get it from there. There are people in the states who pay loads of money for it. You should post that on the reference category!
I love my cubicle. All calm and clean. I used to hate toilets and be fussy about where I went for the painful experiences.
At home I used to grab a towel and hug it hard. I also used to rub my arms and chant in my head that I was ok, over and over. The things you so to try to calm yourself down eh?
You guys got any weird [b]fissure traditions?
Lol new term!!! Fissure traditions!!!

Lets see, before when the pain would come upon a BM,when I sat down on the toilet.
I would tilt my head back then look up at the sealing and blow out by piercing my lips and chant the mmmmm sound. I Image hope no one would here me in the next cubicle..lol It made the pain more bearable, because it usually made me laugh afterwards.

I like this one Welsh!!
ETO's Fissure Traditions LOL......
1) Finding the best pooping position:
"The Dive"
Getting into the "dive" position whilst squatting on loo, knees bent, arms raised up into diving angle, poised and ready to go!!
"The Loo Haka"
For those times, when your poop is having a little trouble popping out smoothly!...Stand either side of the toilet and haka away! Lift each leg in turn, up and down, with knees bent and bottom angled slightly backwards to help the motion pass!.....Jiggle bottom around a little.
2) Air circulation & allowing the fissure to "breathe" crazy theory: "If I can get fresh air at least into my bum crack, it might help the healing process of the fissure"
The Recovery position:
Lie on side in recovery position and stack as many pillows/ cushions as possible on top of each other and lift outer leg as high as possible, with knee bent and angled towards chin and rest on top of stack of pillows!! - thus creating an opening in which air can circulate!!
Bumbathing:
In a very discreet part of the garden(!) expose bare bottom to direct sunlight and using hands, gently pull cheeks apart to allow sunlight & air to get in there!!! Be very gentle with this one!!!
I'm sure I have more to add!........
OMG I'm shocked at the lengths I have actually been to, to make life less painful!!
Can't wait to read others!
