I also had to travel to even see a Colon and Rectal Surgeon, and did not think of myself as brave, and certainly not stupid!
Far better to have things sorted sooner rather than later.
I wish you lots of luck and many good wishes, igrik1986!!

Being on business trip and having some free time I started to prepare list of question to ask doctor. There is a list of them, please suggest if I missed something important you usualy ask or asked prior surgery!
Post hemm surgery
1. Is excision site/wound big?
2. Why do you think it didn’t heal?
3. Do you think it is healing somehow slowly or stopped completely?
4. I have been using nitro since 14.06, almost 2 months, it helped to heal my fissure cause by one doctor. Probably it is worth to continue.
LIS surgery
0. Do I have above normal anal resting pressure? Do I need some tests before surgery?
1. Do you think LIS should resolve all my problems?
2. Do you need to clean up the wound to make it acute again?
3. Will you perform open or closed technique?
4. What would happen in the event of any complications due to surgery?? ( as I live so far away)
5. For safety probably it is worth to use antibiotics right away to prevent infection?
6. Inconsistency what are you comments about this?
7. How many such cases you saw, when wound is not healing after hemmie incision?
8. If I will accept surgery, can we arrange it via mail so I prepare flight and stay in London Is it option to travel back to home or better to stay for several weeks in London?

What would happen in the event of any complications due to surgery?? ( as you live so far away)
What can you be doing in the mean time to maximise healing?
What tests would you need before surgery? ( if, indeed he thinks surgery is at all appropriate )
...... Just remember... Your appointment is only 20 minutes... And it goes by very quickly when you have a lot of questions. I would have a few of the most important ones you want answered to hand, but you never know how the appointment will go. He may just say a shot of Botox will do the trick, so there will be no need for any LIS ones.

Thanks you!
I have added your points.
But you scared me a bit about these 20 mins. If I will exceed this time, and not all my question will be answered, he will not hold appointment for another 5-10mins?
