Nerve pain

Postby mazza1602 » 18 Aug 2013, 02:36

Hi guys. I suffered from an anal fissure in August last year. Six weeks after my daughter was born. Took me to February to get it healed but was still having pain so had a colonoscopy which came back all clear. Doctor told me it was pelvic floor spasms causing the pain and gave me amitryptiline to take. I'm now suffering nerve pain where fissure was and its painful to touch sometimes. Is this a normal side effect of fissure or could it be something else
Thanks in advance 😊

It's driving me mad!! The pain in there when I waken up and after I go to the toilet it seems to get worse. Nothing seems to relieve the pain. The pain seems to come from where the fissure was. I have a skin tag and have always wondered if there's a nerve trapped in it. Doctors don't seem to have a clue what it is either. I also get a burning sensation and pain sometimes in my thighs and tail bone.

I really have no idea either.... I just didn't want to read and run.
I have been having a lot of pain in my tail bone and fissure area since Botox... I am being given an MRI scan to see if there is anything going on in there. It might be a good idea to go back to your dr and see if you could have some sort of scan??

Hi Mazza,
did you have LIS or botox to heal the fissure? Or was it drugs and diet alone? I;m curious whether lingering pain is common with surgery.
I'm sorry to hear about your pain, and hope you can find relief SOON
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Could it just be the pain from spasms?  I hate the spasms...super uncomfortable discomfort/pain.  Like menstrual cramps up the butt.  Mine radiate and feel like my tailbone is being pulled/strained severely at times...it can radiate towards my front pelvic area as well (it's a large anterior AF), similar to menstrual cramps.  I use ointments and heating pad to manage the pain.  Sitz baths which help other times don't seem to help this.  Sometimes gentle walking can help (not always).  Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I done it with creams and diet alone. The fissure had definitely healed. No pain or bleeding when pooping. Everyday the pain is different. Today it feels like a golf ball is jammed in there, I stand all day at work which makes this feeling worse. My anxiety is through the roof and I'm sick listening to myself moaning. I've hot a physio appt tomorrow at 9 so I'll see what she says. I sometimes wonder if another problem caused the fissure and its flaring again
