I've been on Proctosol HC 2.5% for about 4 days and it's what my doctor prescribed me. I'm still having pain and am terrified to have a bowl movement. Has anyone used this ointment before, and does it really work? If so, what was your healing time? I'm desperate for a cure!

When I first went to my Dr about my fissures I saw a nurse practitioner. The HC is what she prescribed. It had no effect on me whatsoever. I then made an appointment with my doctor for sure and when she asked if it worked and I said no, she said she wasn't surprised. Then she gave me a prescription for Diltiazem ointment...now that worked. You should be careful with HC cream/ointment. My dr told me it can wear down skin thickness and make the area weak, which is what you don't want.
This is just my two cents. I'm new hear, but thought I would share anyways.
