As a hayfever sufferer this is great to read. I have also started to Suffer from a rash when exposed to the sun too as my research suggests its called Polymorphic light eruption. Very frustrating. Effectively I'm now allergic to the outdoors and I have an anal fissure with a strict diet. I'm such a catch!

This is a fascinating theory. I can't pretend to understand too much of this article, but I'll tell ya this. I have hay fever/seasonal allergies like no one's business. I'd been fighting an eye infection for over a month, and I'd been taking over-the-counter antihistamines to help keep swelling down in my infected eye. Perhaps coincidentally, my fissure pain completely subsided during the time I was taking the antihistamines. My infection cleared up just over a week ago, so I stopped taking the allergy meds. Now my fissure is stinging. Could there be some sort of unknown correlation between the two? I'm wondering if I'm having some sort of bowel/colon/rectal response to histamines and if the antihistamines were helping me. At least this gives me a lead to follow. I'd been wracking my brain and berating myself on what I could possibly have done wrong/differently to account for this major setback.

Ceeteefeebs, hay you know what, I also have been taking a antihistamines,(was) because some outdoor bug bit me three times on the lower leg, and the Doctor recommended (walk in Clinic,at the time) Benedril for the rash and to reduce the swelling (allergic reaction to the bite).
Any hew I have noticed similar reduction in swelling down under, I don't know, But when I see my Gastro Doc Sept 24 I will ask her about it, I suggest you ask your Doctor too, I would love to know your Doctor's opinion on it too.Image
Try not to think to much about it until you see your Doctor and ask them.
Take care.Image
