When doctor's say they won't do what I want them to do. It makes me feel helpless. If they did this surgery (LIS) instead of messing around, I'd at least know that something was being done. As of right now, they want me to eat a high fiber diet, unbelievable.

Update, just got a voice mail from my CRS. He said he wants to talk tomorrow. I hope this isn't about me calling a patient advocate on him. I'm serious about this surgery guys. I'm not messing around.

Great explanation and research, Scientist. Clearly more research needs to be done on fissures and what causes them not to heal in some cases, and more effective treatments need to be established.
January 2013 - Diagnosed with fissure. Eventually turned chronic.
History of IBS and anxiety disorder, along with fear of using bathrooms other than my own caused it.
Tried Diltiazem, but eventually developed a rash.
LIS surgery scheduled August 26th.

Good luck with talking to your CRS about LIS, endfissure2013. I hope you get somewhere with him.
