Yesterday I walked to work, and I'm back to my usual fast walk, rather than the crawl I've been forced to do for the last few months.
This morning I went for a run! The first run for months.
I had no pain during the run, but afterwards the hemmie was a bit annoyed with me and decided to give me some grief. So after putting on the nitro, I added some lidocaine-prilocaine. It never worked on the fissure, but I thought why not give it a go on the hemmie.
The walk to work was a bit painful but not too bad.
I don't think the fissure re-opened, but seemingly I should be quite careful for a while.
Maybe I'll go back to using the heat treatment too. It feels nice and can't hurt.

Thanks for all the cheers, folks. I'm very happy to be at this point.

Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.

Time - lots of time.

Ok, so I have to take nitro for "four weeks after the last pain".
The trouble is, because of my hemorrhoid, I don't always know if my fissure is hurting.
Like today. I had a bit of diarrhoea yesterday, and twice this morning. My bum hurts. There is a sharp pain (that old stick-up-the butt feeling) and the burning pain of the hemorrhoid.

I'm sitting on the hot water bottle, I've taken 4 ibuprofen already (not all at the same time!). It's like the old days. :(

So I'd better start the 4 weeks from today, I suppose. Lucky I requested a refill of the nitro!

Hang tough Scientist2516

Keep that fighting spirit sister. You will conquer this latest blip, if you will.

Just when we thought we found the sweet-spot in our routines, another curve ball is thrown our way. Determination is the key though isn't it. Just like our hemmy's and fissure is determined to keep us down, that's when we can match it's determination with our own, right Scientist2516.

Just keep tweaking here and there adding this or that withholding this or that amount and soon that sweet spot will give you the healing that you've looked for, for the longest.

Stay the course.....

Fixed, thanks Scientist

I thought for sure somewhere else in another post I had somehow established what gender I was dealing with.

Ohh well, I've got egg on my face.

I've changed a couple of things:
1) I've given up the psyllium for now. I was getting big soft stools. They were OK, but I ran out of psyllium, forgot to get more, and now my stools are very soft, even watery. I know the watery-ness isn't ideal, but I think I'll see how I go without psyllium. I get load of fibre in my diet. Oatmeal with raisins and grated apple in the morning, lunch varies a lot, and usually brown rice or quinoa, with some meat and lots of veg for dinner. Sometimes potato (a little) and often beans or lentils.

2) After about a week of wearing jeans, I decided I'm not ready for that. They are not very tight jeans, but they are close fitting and heavy enough that I think they irritated my pile and hemmie. So, back in skirts............sigh........I really like wearing jeans, but I guess this is my new look for a while.

OK, some pain this morning while we were out shopping, so my 4 weeks of no pain has to date from today.
I don't know why it hurt.....my stools are soft, my BMs are painless. No spasms thank goodness, just some burning.
I went dancing last night, felt great all night.
I wore trousers this morning - (not jeans though)......could that be it?
I changed to a skirt, and took ibuprofen, and after about 2 hours the pain was gone.
I feel that the trousers must be irritating the hemmie or sentinel tag.
Too bad because we are going on vacation in the Appalachians tomorrow; it could be cold and we will be doing some hiking so I'd love to be able to wear trousers. I've packed some leggings and a skirt that's good for hiking so we'll see how that works out. Mustn't forget to pack the hot water bottle!
