Alternative medicine

Postby howtobepositive » 24 Oct 2013, 02:38

Hey guys,

I am seriously considering giving alternative medicine a chance to help heal my fissure. Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Naturopathic or Homeopathic doctors, or Ayurveda or Chinese medicine? Or any other modalities, really anything but conventional western medicine?

Please let me know!

I had a course of reflexology. At the time I don't know if I think it really helped... But looking back I think it definitely did. I'm about to book another course. It's very relaxing if nothing else!!! LOL

I have found aloe vera gel good! It soothes more than completely heals but worth a try :)

I went twice to a dr. who uses homeopathic remedies. I took the prescribed pills, but nothing has changed. It was very expensive so I decided not to repeat the visit.
Disabling burning, drilling pain in anal area for almost a year, started after UT infection. Small anal fissure diagnosed, turned out it is probably not the cause of pain, MRI shows no inflammation or fistula. Grateful to forum members for support.

I had acupuncture to increase blood flow to that area + Chinese herbs to stop bleeding. the bleeding stopped the next day. It lasted for good 2 weeks , but it reopened again. so I am not sure how lasting it is , but will try it again since it helped before
