Advice please

Postby Deleted User 3198 » 14 Nov 2013, 06:21

Hi all
Of down to see my local nurse later as the pain is not subsiding and the creams i have are doing ZERO to help. I have been using Rectogesic and Dilitizam if thats how u spell it but i need a cream with a pain killing effect in it can anyone suggest anything as the skin is sooooooooooooo sore that i cant really use either of these now and i am desperate.
I read about nifedipine with lidocaine ointment but is this a UK item and is it any good. Please please please help as i am at the end of my tether today i am so uncomfortable i just want to crawl into a ball and cry :(

I wish I could help you with some useful advice- I am int a lot of troubles myself, so maybe not the right person to teach the others, but anyway. I ease the inflammaton of the skin with applying aloe vera gel from the fresh plant only (so no additives or preservatives, I used juice without additives once when run out of fresh plant, and it has much weaker effect). I put it on the outside and try to push a little to the inside with finger. If the plant is really fresh the gel is thick and is excellent lubricant. It usually turnes my red skin into normal colour in few minutes and provides some relief for an hour or more.
The pain you talking about is it more from spasm or more from inflammed anal canal?
I know how bad you feel, I am struggling with this myself, I cried a lot today and I am not of much help I can just send you :smilyhug: . Hope you ll find a at least some relief soon.
Disabling burning, drilling pain in anal area for almost a year, started after UT infection. Small anal fissure diagnosed, turned out it is probably not the cause of pain, MRI shows no inflammation or fistula. Grateful to forum members for support.

Do you think the creams are making you sorer?? Diltiazem gave me a nasty sore rash, I had to stop using it.
There is a local anaesthetic gel called instilligel that you could get if things get really unbearable.
If you are swollen and sore, maybe ask for something with hydrocortisone and local anaesthetic in to use for seven days to get the inflammation down.

I think you can be prescribed nifedipine anywhere... You could always ask for it.

Good luck at the drs, and I hope you get sorted out soon xxx

Rio.... Sorry to hear you are struggling with pain too.... Hang on in there... You will get through this!!

Hi Rio

Thanks for the big hug and advice The pain i feel is more like a sore swollen pad at approx 12 oclock if front is 12 if that makes sense. I think it must be the fissure but i also have a skin tag i think but i am just so confused by it all i hate it. I a, trying my best to sort it but i know it will be such a slow healing process. :(

Of course i think i can tell the difference but because i did not have any bleeding this time i treated hems and so i feel i have prolonged the healing by using proctosydol sups.

I have seen the nurse and she is doing a script for xyloproct hoping when i get that it may help as well because putting the other creams on burns hell :(

Oh jonye1971... I'm so sorry to read that. Xxx
Huge hugs.

If you think it's the diltiazem or recto making you so sore I would stop using them ASAP. Just use the xyloprocot when you get it. In the mean time maybe just use something like sudocream or zink baby cream to soothe the area.... Along with a couple of nice long warm baths a day if you can.

I am in bed now just trying to get off my bum and hope in the morning i get some reprieve. I dont see the CRS till Jan but the nurse said today if i dont get any let up in a week to go back and see her and she will get a faster appt.

I just want it to go away i really do :(

A little update.....

Postby Deleted User 3198 » 19 Nov 2013, 14:37

Well i wanted to update my question here with a little answer to my own question. I really do believe that overuse of those creams prescribed by the CRS and my GP made my bum so sore rather than helping it To prove it i stopped using those lotions and potions a couple of days ago and purely put on sudocrem and so far so good. Its so much more comfortable not burning or stinging and although i dont get much let up from the pain during the day it is a little more comfortable. Seen my GP again today and asked if she could contact the CRS and get me in sooner than January to see him again if possible that would be ideal but i dont hold out much hope if im honest as i do feel that since they banded 2 internal hems under an EUA in august that the wounds maybe ulcerated and i could do with them having a look as i feel that might be why there is no let up in the pain down there. Anyhow just had a bath and put some sudocrem on and got myself into bed so that i am off of my bottom and hoping it might help. I will keep ya all updated but i do feel that the creams prescribed to me were doing more harm than good i really do.
