I'm going to start the Miralax today. I haven't taken any Colace, yet - don't plan to, either - so, it's in the afternoon here, and I've been waiting to take the Miralax, because I've already had a BM and didn't want the Miralax to work TODAY . . .
So, if I take it right now, I'm thinking that might be okay - it shouldn't affect me this evening or tonight . . . and hopefully, I'll be okay tomorrow with my BM, WITHOUT taking any Colace.
Miralax users . . . please advise. Should I maybe take it tonight? Would it then work by tomorrow morning?

Hey Bug, I take mine at 9 everynight, and it is not like milk of mag where it makes you go very quickly. It is not a stimulant laxitive, it is Osmotic which means it draws water in to the bowel, so make sure to drink enough water. Start with the 1 cap and go from there. Some people say it takes a few days to really do what it is supposed to but it worked just fine for me the next day. Don't increase it too quickly, give it a few days and if you are not where you want to be then just increase a bit.

Should I go ahead and take the Miralax - or should I wait until tomorrow, don't take the Colace, and just start the Miralax . . .?

Take it tonight and leave the Colace out tomorrow. That one little Colace is not going to make a difference. I am late taking mine so gonna go take it right now. Dissolve it in a little hot water first, stir it up until it is clear and add whatever you want to mix with it. I use apple juice or you can just use water, there is not taste to it, but I like the apple juice since all I drink is water all day.

It's almost 7:30 here . . . so, in an hour or so, I'm going to mix it up exactly as you advised . . .

Yes, start with the 1 capfull once a day. Some on here divide the dose 1/2 in the morning 1/2 at night, but that makes me go at different times during the day. If I just do a whole cap at night I am like a clock. 7 a.m every morning. Everyone is different, so you may have to tinker with it.

I used to take colace twice a day and it didn't do anything for me- miralax is amazing!!! I take half a capful in the morning and half at night and I do go twice a day, but it doesn't make you go like a laxative would. It strictly makes your bm soft and painless, no diarrhea or urgency to go- its a godsend!! Good luck!!

I swallowed my first dose, about half an hour ago. Hopefully, it will keep things soft and easy.
Whatever will help, I'm willing to try. I'm not sure that Colace has beenworking, anyhow.

I take the full doasge of Miralax at 12 noon and I have a BM the next morning
