Does taking Miralax cause any stomach cramps or feelings of fullness?

I've been taking Miralax for almost 2 weeks now. At first I just took it in a glass of water before bed. That caused me to feel very nauseous. I started taking it with a little bit of food and that seemed to stop the nausea.

I still feel so full and bloated after taking it. Last night, I had such terrible stomach cramps but no nausea.

I'd really hate to stop taking Miralax because I feel it's been so beneficial to keep my bm soft, but I don't really want to add a nightly stomach ache to my other pains.

Oh, I take 1/2 dose of Miralax.

I did find that it could a little - but started taking it in a smoothie with banana and it helped. Make sure to drink lots and lots with it.

Are you also taking fibre supplements?

I'm not currently taking any fiber supplements. They make me feel bloated and gassy and don't seem to help my bms.

I've thought about taking just 1/4 dose of Miralax but I'm worried it won't be as helpful.

I would give a smaller dose a try, and maybe work up to a higher dose. Maybe try and eat some foods with a similar effect if you're taking less - prunes, plums, peaches etc. Or some prune juice.

There are other stool softners - colace (ducosate sodium) worked at least for a while for me, it was very gentle, worth a try!
