Rectogesic and getting cold

Postby Pah » 09 Dec 2017, 08:01

I've been given rectogesic as a muscle relaxer to try and help with an anal fissure until I see a surgeon on the 20th to discuss how to help heal it. But I've noticed that since I've been using it twice a day I've had to avoid getting cold or I get the shakes. This is not something I've previously had to deal with but I thought I would ask if it was common.

I've had this twice now when getting cold. I shake a little like I'm shivering but it's not cold enough for that and feel really drugged up. Spacey feeling but without the comfortableness of a medication working (like a strong pain killer). It's rather uncomfortable to experience and I think it might be related to blood pressure. I found eating something helped get it in a more managable state but since it's only happened twice it's not something I've experimented with.

Any thoughts? Any one else experienced this? I've spoke to my doctor and he isn't concerned about it.

It's probably related to your blood pressure changing. If shaking is noted as a serious side effect in the medication info then it will be worth bringing it up again with your doctor.
