Retear or Scar Tissue Woes?

Postby Lynna » 12 Oct 2016, 19:39

Hi all!

Long time sufferer here. I had an LIS like 4-5 years ago (didn't go GREAT - long recovery), and have had at least one retear since. That retear was very obvious, as I bled even more with that fissure than I did pre-LIS.

However, I'm having difficulty figuring out whether what I have now is another, although much smaller/milder tear, or just scar tissue irritation.

May I ask what types of issues people have with their scar tissue? Spasms? Pain? Is the pain sharp, dull, burning, etc., when do you feel it, and so on.

My LIS never fixed my spasms entirely (which are basically painless twitches, like people sometimes get in their eye or legs). But they are acting up more than usual lately, and I'm getting a few sharper nips of pain here and there (usually AFTER a BM vs during), as well as some general achy/burny feelings.

Hmmm... really good question Lynna. I haven't had LIS so I am not sure. I definitely have experienced spasms in the area before my fistula repair and even later when I dealt with fissures. Not sure what causes it. My twitch/spasm was occasionally sharp and came on suddenly. It happened while I was in an acute phase. Also, mine occurred whenever they wanted, even many hours after a BM while walking through a store. Hopefully someone else will shed some light on their experiences too.
