Return of pain and spasms

Postby Vem4kids » 18 Oct 2016, 13:35

I'm new to this group. I've been treating my chronic fissure with Nifedipine .2% for 5 weeks now. I've probably had this thing for almost a year but my first exams and colonoscopy only found hemorrhoids so we were treating it all wrong. I have a rectocele and perineal descent that I know is contributing to my issues. I'm scheduled for surgery on Nov 4 along with an exam under anesthesia by the CRS the same time. If needed he will do fissurectomy and Botox then. At the 2 week mark CRS said fissure had begun healing and was no longer red and angry. At the 4 week mark CRS said it was healing and internal sphincter could no longer be seen. I haven't had spasms or real pain for almost 2 weeks now. I've only been uncomfortable enough to remind me I have this fissure. I also do PT twice a week. All of a sudden today I'm back to intense pain and spasms. There's no clear reason why. Does anyone have experience with this. Have I damaged it again or is this part of the healing process?

Hey and welcome to the forum.

Do you still experience that pain and spasms? It could be the case you re-teared accidentally
07.02.2013 - got open hemorrhoidectomy, leaded to slow healing wound. Link to story
