Re: Repair of anal keyhole deformity after fistula surgery?

I realise this is quite an old thread, but I'm wondering how you got on with the keyhole deformity? There's so little about this online, and I'm finding it really depressing. Is there any positive news or hope?

My Fissure Journey

... sphincterotomy I developed a fistula. I think the fissure had been there for so long and as it healed sealed itself off with what they call a “keyhole” deformity. This resulted in an abscess which then evolved into a fistula. I went back to my surgeon. They blew me off. I literally had pus ...

Re: Leakage 8 months post-op?

... Yes, it is sooooo frustrating! What complication happened that you needed a second surgery? I didn't heal properly either and developed a small keyhole groove at the opening of the LIS site which is what is causing the little bit of leakage, but my surgeon doesn't want to surgically correct ...

Hi Vortex87,

You mean you have keyhole defect without any surgery?

Re: Young and Leaking

Husk and kegel exercises work for me. I usually have leakage after a soft BM for about an hour or two. I never had LIS though, I just have a keyhole defect in my internal sphincter. I try to do at least 3x10 kegels a day. Good Luck!

That's how it feels because its only tight on my right side. There is a keyhole defect on the opposite side. Its a scar that covers the sphincter.

Re: Hello I has just had a fistulotomy.

... I have to wipe a few times an hour or so at my remaining fistulotony wound. It seems it's formed into a hole of some sorts. Possibly a "keyhole deformity" which liquid stool seems to leak from. It so happens to be next to an external hemorrhoid on the inside of the other cheek and ...

Re: Lord's Dilation procedure

... and can cause incontinence. Your surgeons is promoting outdated practices. LIS used to be done at the posterior location, which could lead to a 'keyhole' deformity and subsequent leakage. However, it's now performed at the lateral location, and only 1/3 or so of the muscle is cut, reducing the ...
