Brit, wishing you good luck and fast healing!

Steve is quite correct. Its quite a lengthy procedure to actually get the option of an operation here in the UK. The waiting lists are a Minimum of 5 Weeks but 'Legally' are not allowed to exceed 8 weeks. The get fined if it exceeds 8 weeks.
Every other treatment is considered a must before Surgery in the eyes of the NHS.
Very hard work indeed.

Well, First Operation was around 5 Weeks Waiting Time.
Second Operation was 6 Weeks Waiting Time.
If I need to have the Third Operation, I can expect to wait around a similar timescale.
I was fortunate on the first appointment by the Specialist, to be given the Operation Date there and then.
This did not happen again....

All I can say is, things must have been very bad for them to operate so quickly.. I'm very dubious about getting LIS done now as sometimes it's not successful after one attempt and i'm not all that keen on surgery twice!

Thanks everyone!!! I'm feeling fantastic, and cant believe i wasted my time being nervous. I went in around 10 and left the hospital around 2 if that gives you any idea of how smoothly it went...i woke up in the recovery room with no pain, for they used some numbing shots down there. I was actually pretty surprised with how coherent I was right after waking up. They told me to take a pain pill right when i got home, before the numbing shots wore off and to stay on top of the pain for the first few days, so ive been taking the pills like clockwork and have not felt a thing. I get to take my first Peri-shower tomorrow and will be doing those 3 times a day...he didnt mention bathing, so im wondering if i can take sitz baths as well? Have been also eating super soft foods (jello, pudding, broth) to make sure my first post-op BM is as soft as possible. From what ive experienced so far I think I should heal pretty fast. Thank you all for your thoughts, and i will keep you all updated on my progress. SO happy I did this!!!

That's awesome! Sorry, I dunno about your sitz bath question but I'm sure one of our experienced LIS'ers will help you there soon enough. It's great to hear that your initial feedback is so positive :)
BTW what's a Peri-shower? Just curious.

Hrm maybe it's like a peri wash for postpartum care? I know there's a thing called a peri bottle (I think it's short for "perineal bottle" or "perineum bottle") that's used to wash the perineum area after giving birth. This kind of sums up what a peri bottle is about:

I guess it would make sense to use it for the same reasons (gentle cleansing) following surgery...
Getting late here in California, guess you're really burning the midnight oil there in SLC... Time to hit the sack, have a good night and hope things continue to improve for ya!
