Hi there davimos. I’m really really pleased to hear of your progress. It is wonderful news!!! I think sometimes it is just finding the culprits even if we aren’t allergic as such. I eat far less bread these days myself. I do love bread!! But I think it helps. As for miralax I take movicol half a sachet daily. The specialist and my gp have said it is not going to harm my insides and ok long term it is a very low dose. It usually helps with regularity for me although sometimes I still get constipated but it’s less so. I think this is a similar medicine to miralax.
I’m so pleased you are better long may this last you may have found the solution to your troubles.

Agreed! Keep me posted on how things go. I am still good weeks and bad weeks. I think stress is a massive factor for me so I have to keep trying to minimise that!

Thanks for your good thoughts, wish you good vibes, too. One thing that happens periodically is the area of the fissure is sensitive and after all this time would think it would be fully healed and not hurt at all. Sigh. Best wishes.

Hi suemac how are you? Ive had a little setback and i didnt notice a harder bm i did notice pressure a few days ago while having a bm so i guess soft bms with pressure can also flear us up. Im due my 3rd baby in 5wks now im starting to worry that i will go through fissure hell after he is born like i did after my otger 2 were born. Im also thinking that spending the rest of my life trying to soften my stools is not going to work when no one can hsce a perfect bm everyday of their life so i feel like doing the opposite an tryibg to heal with normal bms without softeners i actually feel like giving up and letting my bowls do what ever they want if that means hard bms so be it. If soft bms still cause it to flearup whats the point in being ocd softeners and bms! Who would of thought years ago 1 day I'm going to be all consumed by my butt nothing else will be more on my mind even when pregnant and with a new baby lifes going to be great.

Hi missy- gosh the time has gone quick! I can understand your fears about things being worse after the birth but they won’t necessarily be just because they were before. Maybe you are further along with healing than before?
I myself take a hang sachet movicol every evening and expect todo so forever. Of course we can’t have perfect bm every time. I find that softer helps me so long as I don’t have multiple bm per day. I eat what I want no special diet. I blame my sluggish bowels on an under active thyroid.
Try to stay calm and look after yourself - I know it’s hard I have three children myself Although they are almost grown up now but I remember the chaos of earlier days! Keep us posted best wishes Suemac

Best wishes to you Missy, hopefully you will be fine this time around. Also good to see you are doing well Suemac, continued good vibes your way. I've been fine so far with the fissure healing, knock on wood, but who's superstitious, ;-), but have had a hemm issue pop up (literally) the past week and don't know the reason as I've had great soft bm's for four weeks only going two or three times a day versus the many time that I was dealing with before, so not sure why the hemm popped up, but it seems last week but it seems to be getting smaller now. Just don't understand it, but doesn't seem to hurt now and is shrinking so assuming it's nothing sinister. If not resolved within three weeks I'll go to the doc, but hoping not to as the virus rages in my area.

Let's hope for the best for everyone.

Oh one more thing, the hemm popped up last week but don't really feel it anymore when cleaning up after a bowel movement, but still feel the small lump when showering. It seems to be shrinking, has been about a week, anyone know how long it could take to resolve? I figure if not gone in three weeks then I'll go to the CRS, no pain or discomfort now, no burning anymore, but odd how it popped up now that I've been using the miralax for the past four weeks and have had the most regular and best BMs of my entire life. Have also cut out grain cereal and bread and have just been eating more fruit -- mostly two pears a day -- and an avocado with boiled egg most mornings with a pear, and lots of vegetables, but have consistently had broccoli and sweet potato/butternut squash soup daily; it has really been great along with the miralax. Beginning to think the whole grains/breads were not good for me even though I've been tested for gluten allergies and came back negative.

Now hoping it's not anal cancer, but figure waiting two to three weeks will be ok to see if it resolves. I had something like this years ago on the other side and remember it actually took about two or so months to resolve. Just fearful now that I've finally got the bm's and fissure under control and on top of everything else in life, it will be cancer. Sigh, one more log into the anxiety fire.

I think 90% of fissure an hem sufferers think they have cancer i guess its human nature. Chances are that your fine. Try witch hazel for your hems it shrinks them really well an they should go away but once you have a hem it can pop back up at a later date if you get lots of pressure in the area. keep us updated.

Also thank you both for the support I'll keep you updated fingers crossed that 2021 is a better bum year for us all.

I agree with missy. I hope it’s now gone but my husband had one that took several weeks if not a few months to go. Eventually it went completely back/shrunk. If it persists beyond a reasonable time or gets worse then I’d contact your doctor. It’s a minor setback you are still doing great!
