Third Round of Botox or LIS

Postby vdb324 » 26 Jan 2014, 22:45

I am at a fork in the road. Two rounds of Botox, with the latest being successful with no pain or blood for three weeks. However, it seems the pain is returning this past week and a half.

At this point, do I try a third round (seeing the second was successful), or do I stop wasting time and just get the LIS? It seems like I do so well for such a long period of time, but one bad BM can set you back to square one.

I'm getting exhausted and just want to return to normal life. It's been a year now.

Any suggestions? I just want to be prepared in case the CRS gives me the option again.

If it was me, at this point, I would go for LIS ..... But you have to be certain to weigh up all the pros and cons..... And decide if you feel safer giving the Botox one last try.

Good luck with your appointment... Let us know how you get on.

The problem with Botox is that it has 50 % chance of work or not work. Also the fissure can heal, but after the Botox wears out any hard BM can open it again. That's why surgery is recommended after 2 rounds of Botox. Because if Botox didn't work the first 2 times, the chance of working a third time is very low. Best of luck with your decision.

Hi did you end up with a third round of Botox? Have you healed now from the 3rd Botox?
