Surgical site infection

Postby Ohio » 04 Apr 2016, 14:42

Got LIS Feb 4th...so 2 months ago as of today.
Fissure healed in bout 3 weeks.
Bout 2 weeks post op i had pain, swelling, pus (yellow/green) & sometimes bleeding from incision.
Turns out I got a surgical site infection.
Only bout 1% of people get this from surgery...go figure!
I did 10 days of an antibiotic that lessened symptoms quite a bit thankfully.
Finished medicine 2 weeks ago.
But the incision still isn't healed!
The more often I have a bm the more often symptoms show up.
Doctor just keeps telling me to be patient & it takes time.
Has anyone else had a surgical site infection?
If so please tell me good news!
Thx all :)
