Anal Fissure (I'm Pretty Worried)

Postby awaysway » 27 Nov 2016, 20:14

Hi all, I'm pretty worried that my chronic Anal Fissure is possibly related to inflammatory bowel disease / crohn's disease. I never have diarrhea or pain in my stomach, but I read it's still a possibility that you can have none of the symptoms of ibs but it can still attach very specific locations. Another thing I read is that if the fissure is off to the side this could be related to inflammatory bowel disease. I'm pretty sure it is to the side because i only see blood on the left side after looking at my movement. I'm pretty worried :(. What do you guys think?

Crohn's and IBD are serious and need to be diagnosed by a specialist. We would advise you to see a CRS or a GI to get an answer. There is quite a lot of info on the forum, so do see what's there, but do see a doctor fior a test and diagnosis.

And :wel: to the Forum!

Yeah, I have an appointment with a specialist. I just wanted to post on here to see if anyone had any thought on if it is related to inflammatory bowel disease.

It isn't easy to pass on that information, as we are all different. And as you're probably very worried about it, we can only - from previous experience - suggest things. If a gastroenterologist or a colon and rectal surgeon suspects that you may have either of these, or some other immunoreppressent disease, I expect that a colonoscopy will be suggested to you.

I know it's a worry, as I have a disease that suppresses my immune system myself, with all types of different side effects, but the doctor should be able to at least put your mind at rest. Have a look through the Crohn's section of the forum too. We are not that many people on here; people tend to heal and move on, in general, which is why I'm suggesting what I can to help :sunny:

I hope something I have said (my thoughts on your situation) are of some help to you while you to to see your specialist. You can also rant about it on here to your heart's content and we'll at least react as someone on here has been/is in your situation. :huggies:

Hi,
Like savaici says the best thing is to see a specialist. I have crohns and it's one of those things you pretty much tend to know you have....the horrendous bouts of diarrhoea, temperature exhaustion. Yes you can get peri anal crohns just in your anus and a fissure to the side could be a sign of this, but every human body is different my smallest fissure is on the right and I was tested but I don't have peri anal crohns my surgeon said it could be as simple as to how we sit every day that can weaken one side or the other.
I know it easy to say don't panic but try not too...get to see a specialist as soon as you can as it will put your mind at rest and if needed you can start on medication quicker
Good luck
