Should i be worried?

Postby bumnumb » 15 Jul 2016, 14:50

Im 24 this year. I have rectal bleeding for the past 10 years but had nv went to the doctor until recently.

I usually have blood(spots no bigger than 1cm) on the TP which happen almost everytime after BM. I had been dismissing it as i tot it was just piles. Only these couple of years the bleeding got worse(sometimes 70% of the TP sheet is red/burgundy-coloured blood), but they cleared after the first 2 wipe, and i only had my first blood-in-bowl situation about 2 days ago. the GP say i have anal fissure, but i requested for a specialist referral and the appointment is a month later from now.

Is this duration and amount of bleeding normal for anal fissure? should i be worried for more serious things like colorectal cancer or crohns?

:wel: blood with fissures is quite common, and the blood that they look for in tests is usually what is known as occult blood, hidden to the eye. Good that you have an appointment however, for your own peace of mind. :smilyhug:
